Please read the whole description. A long time ago, someone asked if I'd make a video about the Compaq Evo D5xx computers. There were other members of this series...maybe a 300 and a 700 set of models? Here are some Compaq Evo D500 and D510 small form factor (SFF) computer systems. In this video, I compare them to the previous Deskpro EN systems and show the differences. Like the Deskpro systems before them, some of these systems have fully functional and software accessible fan control functions. Some don't, due to the use of a different controller IC for the fans that SpeedFan doesn't seem to understand how to operate (or that it can't program as it wishes). The audio and graphics subsystems are also demonstrated in this video. There are also some neat things printed on the motherboard. I believe the song used (briefly!) in this video was performed by a group known as "Reunion". I'm not 100% sure of this.

Here are some of the driver(s) that may work (google them): "Vista_Win7_R241_x86" File From RealTek According to a friendly viewer (bluveeta): "If it still doesn't work for you after step 3, after you have downgraded to your old sound driver, reinstall the newest version again. Sometimes when a problem with a driver occurs you can fix it by reinstalling it (to do this downgrade then upgrade back to your newest/original driver ) *this is what worked for me w/ a toshiba satellite. I have worked on this piece for longer than any I can remember, it is longer than any I can remember Composing, and the composition part is probably a shining example of what I am capable of. I may have spent about 10 or so hours total or more on this. Unfortunately, the computer I usually work on had its sound card break, so I went on my secondary one to make this. Well, it has a different version of Camstudio that I don't like, and when I'm recording the sound quality is less than fabulous. Furthermore, I miscalculated where I could properly re-use clips, and some of the transitions aren't very clean. This piece didn't come out like I had hoped, and I'm planning on re-doing it once the better computer is fixed. Because I don't know how long that will take, I've uploaded this in the meantime. Expect an update sometime in the next 70 or so years (my way of saying I have no idea when it can be fixed). OK, well about the piece... Yes, I can do more than video game music, and I really like this song so I looked at some sheet music and it looked possible, but the sheet music was flawed, with the bass rhythm off and percussion next to illegible. I simply cannot express how amazing it is to be completely immersed in this album. For me, It's like hearing it for the first time, times ten. Mastering engineer, Alan Parsons took full advantage of the Quad format, by ping-ponging sound effects, and the crazed laughter around you. On 'Us and Them', the echos circle around you, rotating the sound field each verse. If you have the proper equipment, and the source material, I urge you to experience it for yourself. I recommend experiencing this with four full range speakers and a Quad receiver, but any DTS capable home theater receiver will also do the job. Even with bookshelf/satellite speakers and a subwoofer. This unreleased (at the time) Alan Parsons Quad mix has been available since 2006, via a pirated copy supposedly made from the master tapes. As of September 27 2011, you can legally acquire this Quad mix in DTS form via; "The Dark Side Of The Moon - Immersion Box Set" on disc 3 www.amazon.com . I'm not sure if it's 4.1 (for people who do not have full range speakers, and rely on a sub for handling bass). Equipment used in video: Kenwood KR-8340 Quadraphonic receiver Four Sansui AS-200 3-way acoustic suspension speakers Audio is fed to the receiver using an HP desktop, using the front/rear outputs of the 5.1 soundcard. Asus laptop is used to control the HP Computer, and serve as a monitor, keyboard and mouse, via windows remote desktop. My Hackintosh Logic Studio setup

Here is a quick tour of my 'hackintosh' setup. I've installed OSX 10.6.4 on a PC (dual boot with Windows 7), mainly to run Logic Pro 9 (v9.1.1). So far it's very basic, but works perfectly. Install method: iAtkos S3 v2 distro Specs: Gigabyte G41M-ES2L Motherboard Intel Pentium dual core e2160 1.8GHz (overclocked to 2.7GHz) 4Gb DDR2 Ram 3-port PCI firewire card w/TI chipset Geforce 8400GS 512Mb (passive cooled) PCIE graphics Hard drives: 250Gb, 80Gb & 500gb (external). Studio Gear: Phonic Helix 12 Firewire audio mixer Edirol PCR-1 Midi Controller Keyboard Studiologic SL990Pro Midi Controller Keyboard (USB via Edirol UM1X adapter) Fostex PM-1 Active studio monitors Sennheiser HD-25 heaphones Various mics inc.
